Why I love my SpiderPro v3 Camera Belt System

Why I love my SpiderPro v3 Camera Belt System

Let’s get this out of the way now. I’m not a Spider Holster affiliate. I’m not earning a dime off this post. When I find equipment that’s amazing, I say so. And on that note… let’s dig in.

For the longest time, I used a crossbody camera strap, which put the weight of the camera on just one shoulder.

My old setup: crossbody Black Rapid strap.

By the end of busy season, I was camped out in my chiropractor’s office or my physical therapist’s (or both) with persistent neck pain, shoulder pain, and upper back pain.

This year, I upgraded to a Spider v3 Belt.

It was a complete game changer for my neck, back, and shoulders. I walk you through my whole setup in the video below; keep scrolling for links to buy everything!

PS: I forgot to mention the hand strap on the video, but it’s in the list below.

How much I spent

  • Single camera system (belt, holster, camera plate): $260
  • Accessory Clip: $45
  • ProGrip for accessory (attaches to the accessory, so it can slide into the Accessory Clip): $7
  • Carabiners for belt bag: $10 x 2
  • Belt bag from Amazon: $13
  • Hand strap: $75

Total: $420

These are prices as of mid-2026, not including taxes and shipping.

Pro tips: Sign up for Spider emails and you’ll get notified about sales. AND look for coupon codes out on the web before you buy!

My SpiderPro v3 and everything on it

This set has three parts: the leather belt, the “holster” your camera slides into (with a pad to protect your hip), and the plate that attaches to the bottom of your camera.

I wear size 4-6 in pants, but luckily the belt has removable sections so I could make it work for my waist!

Spider Hand Strap

Buy it on Amazon or at SpiderHolster.com

Some people live on the wild side and don’t use a hand strap, but I’m too much of a scaredy-cat with $5k of equipment on the line.

I ordered mine through Amazon just for the faster shipping, but you can get this at SpiderHolster.com, too—sometimes the price is a little cheaper at one or the other.

This is designed to hold five pounds or less, so no cameras on this holster, but it’s great for an off-camera flash, gimbal, or similar. I carry my on-camera flash here and sometimes my handheld fan.

This grip is kinda like a zip tie mated with a hose clamp. It attaches to about any piece of gear you might want to carry around with you; this works in conjunction with the accessory holster. It has a stainless steel screw you’ll use to tighten it down.

Spider sells multiple types of grips; choose the one that makes sense for what you want to carry around.

A budget alternative to the Spider leather sling pouch

I didn’t want to drop $169 on Spider’s leather pouch, because A) I’m not that bougie, and B) I’d just dropped a bundle of cash on the whole system so another $169 wasn’t feeling so good. I tried seven Amazon bags until I found the perfect one, plus the perfect carabiners to make it all work.

This MAXTOP Small Crossbody Bag for Women with Adjustable Strap was the right width for my waist (a little over 8″) and didn’t hang down too low when clipped onto the belt. Perfect.

Carabiners to attach belt bag to Spider holster belt

Get two of these. Another gal on Insta recommends the 1.75″ version, but I found that the 1.5″ clip was a tighter fit and moved around less.

More reasons to love the Spider Holster

  1. It’s adjustable for alllll sizes of folks; I needed to remove one section of belt so it would fit me better. One straight screwdriver and five minutes later I was done!
  2. It’s super-secure: it connects with hook-and-loop (Velcro) but there’s also a foolproof leather belt buckle, so that puppy isn’t going ANYWHERE.
  3. It’s padded. Extra padding where the belt meets your body means even when you’re loaded down like a pack mule (see video above), it’s still super comfortable.

I’m sure I’ll find more reasons to love my Spider holster in the months to come, but for now, just 3 months in… IT’S AMAZING.

This page contains affiliate links for the Belt Bag and Hand Strap. I’m not a Spider affiliate (they don’t have an affiliate program that I know of), so I may earn a small commission if you buy using the bag and strap links. Clearly I am only recommending these because THEY’RE AMAZING.
