How it works

School photos with Apollo & Ivy are different from the old standard school pics. No marbled backgrounds, props, or flashbulbs here!

Fine art school photos keep the focus on your child’s unique personality. I spend time with them, make them smile and laugh, then capture their expressions, from pensive to sweet to silly.

Your next steps

Fill out the form at the bottom of this page to pre-register your child for picture day.

You can request sibling photos, join my mailing list, and accept/decline the model release.

After picture day

I’ll post a link in the HHPS Facebook group within 3 weeks of picture day (it will also be shared on Brightwheel).
Your child will have their own album containing the best 4–6 images (each will be in color and black & white).
Choose a package or order a la carte prints, canvases, and digital downloads. There’s no obligation to buy.

What to wear

Your child’s photos will be taken against a black backdrop, so keep that in mind when choosing clothing.

I recommend:

Light-colored tops in solid colors or subtle prints. Consider colors that make your child’s eye color pop!
Small bows (less than 4″ wide), headbands or barrettes at the side of the head.
Details add visual interest: suspenders, ruffles, a cute little bow-tie… lots of options!
For babies, choose tops that don’t darken when they get wet (slobber is inevitable with the littlest ones)!
Avoid:
- - Large amounts of black, navy, and other dark colors
  - Ultrabright and neon colors
  - Small thin stripes or small checkered prints
  - Logos or shirts with big print
Consider allowing your child to pick a favorite outfit within these parameters to capture even more of their personality!

Photographic prints are high-quality, true-to-color prints on lustre (slightly glossy) paper. Canvases are printed on poly-cotton artist-grade canvases with a finished backing, ready to hang, with corner bumpers and metal fasteners.

Packages are subject to 6% Iowa sales tax.

Order in the first two weeks and get FREE SHIPPING! I’ll deliver your order to your Helping Hands location for pickup.

After that, shipping is pro-rated based on the size and quantity of prints ordered, and is a minimum of $6.95.

Photographic prints are professional-quality, true-to-color prints printed on slightly glossy paper, rated to last 100 years. Frame and mat not included.
